Preventing the next Marysville

Four years ago this week, a high school student in Marysville, Washington, shot and killed four of his classmates before taking his own life. He was using his father's gun.

These kinds of tragedies are preventable. The research is clear: 68% of school shooters acquired the gun (or guns) used in their attacks from their own home or that of a relative.

Safe gun storage laws can keep these guns out of the hands of teenagers and prevent violence and suicides. But the gun lobby is fighting as hard as they can to prevent Oregon from passing a safe gun storage law.

Can you chip in to help prevent future tragedies like the Marysville shooting, by passing safe gun storage laws in Oregon?

School shootings are happening far too often — and with most school shooters using a relative's gun, it's clear that safe storage laws requiring guns to be locked up would help prevent these shootings.

Some states already have safe gun storage laws, and they have lower rates of suicide and accidental gun deaths. We need these laws in Oregon too, and we need to act now before another senseless tragedy occurs.

Please chip in to help prevent the next school shooting by passing safe gun storage laws in Oregon.
